Manchester United has made a play for Neymar before, however Jose Mourinho says it is "crazy" and "inconceivable" for the club to pursue Barcelona's Brazilian star once more.

Manchester United has made a play for Neymar before, however Jose Mourinho says it is "ludicrous" and "unthinkable" for the club to pursue Barcelona's Brazilian star once more.

Talking with ESPN Brazil, Mourinho played down all theory connecting Manchester United to Neymar, who has an expanding discharge provision of more than 200 million in his agreement with the Spanish powerhouse. Neymar simply marked another arrangement with the club in October, one that is slated to keep him at Camp Nou through 2021.


 "It's hypothesis. I generally attempt to be goal and practical with clubs and to ask them what they can give me. To request Neymar is ridiculous," Mourinho said. "A club like Barcelona can not and won't lose Neymar. Despite the fact that Messi is as yet a youthful player with years in front of him, he's very nearly 30, and Neymar will be the colossal player of Barcelona post-Messi. So much that I think it [trying to sign Neymar] resembles attempting to break into a sheltered, unimaginable."

SI's Grant Wahl announced last April that Manchester United offered Barcelona the 190 million important to trigger Neymar's discharge proviso in 2015, however the player chose to remain put.
